CANTON Laurie Molnar gave yoga a try years ago, but she didn’t stick with it.
She has returned to it, and says every aspect of her life is better for it.
“There are some biological reasons why I believe yoga has healed my inner spirit,” she said. “Inner healing happens through focus, and wisdom energy you didn’t know you had.”
At a time when stress and conflict are off the charts, people who swear by yoga say it can foster peace, understanding and healing, both physical and emotional.
Molnar, who attends classes at Yoga Central, which has studios in Canton and Plain Township, said she initially gave yoga a try at the recommendation of a mental-health professional.
“I tried it and failed miserably,” she said. “I reintroduced it to myself as an empty-nester.”
