There is no doubt about it. These are challenging times. This week, I thought I would share how plants help me personally deal with all this stress.
If you are a regular reader, you know I am a tree hugger. And, I do mean that literally. The larger the trunk, the better the hug in my opinion. This is simple to do.
Find a tree. Check the trunk for insects before leaning in and wrapping your arms around it. I like to imagine roots extending from my feet down into the earth next to the tree’s roots. Then, I inhale and imagine the tree and I both are pulling energy up from the Earth. On the exhale, I imagine that same energy transferring back down into the ground.
Walking through a forest is another one of my favorite stress relieving activities. I have written before about forest bathing. Basically certain trees exude compounds that can help alleviate anxiety, depression and anger.
