Hypnotherapy is a modality in the therapy world where a hypnotist uses hypnosis to insert suggestions into the clients mind, because when you are in hypnosis your conscious mind is less resistant. A person becomes open and willing to new ways or ideas of thinking.
Tamara Chalmers from Wawota has started her journey into becoming a hypnotherapist.
Chalmers is a married mother of two with a mind full of wonder and an eagerness to learn. Like many others, Chalmers suffers from episodes of anxiety and depression which is why she started researching how the subconscious mind and hypnotherapy work.
“It fuelled me into understanding how the mind works – why we slip into these dark places and how do we get out of them,” she said. “It wasn’t until last winter that I actually discovered it. And by discovered I mean researched and researched about it.”
