Hitting rock bottom gave business coach Rashid Mubashir the push he needed to realise his potential and set him on a path to help others reach their goals.
Mr Mubashir moved to Australia in 2014 from his native home of Pakistan completely alone with little more than $1,000 in his pocket. He had spent many years living in poverty with his family on $200 per month, with the four-person household making do by conserving water and electricity, rationing food and sharing one bed.
But his hard childhood did little to prepare the 18-year-old for what to expect in Sydney, Australia. With limited skills and facing severe culture shock, the coach quickly spiralled into depression under the pressure of a life unknown without the support of his family.
In 2014, the surmounting pressure took Mr Mubashir to the edge of suicide.
