Braintree Village has confirmed which shops will remain open despite being in Tier Four.
The majority of the county was plunged into the new and strictest tier on midnight on Sunday (December 20), placing residents under an increasingly familiar lockdown scenario.
Non-essential businesses had been allowed to stay open in Tier Three, but the strictest tier forced all non-essential businesses to close their doors.
Braintree Village has followed government advice, but there are some services still available.
There are three exceptions outlined by the government of shops that can continue to trade, which are:
- Essential retail
- Stores that are offering the local community a click & collect service
- Cafes & restaurants offering a take-away service
