With the transfer of accused Capitol rioter Jacob Chansley to a Virginia jail, his mugshot has been released for the first time.
The Arizona man known as the “QAnon shaman” was prominent during the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, shirtless and wearing face paint and a furry hat with horns.
He was moved Thursday afternoon from a Washington, D.C., jail to a facility in the suburbs after his lawyer complained Chansley had gone nine days without eating because the D.C. facility didn’t serve organic food. An organic diet is part of his “shamanic belief system and way of life,” the lawyer said.
The Alexandria Detention Center said it could accommodate his food requests.
Chansley’s mugshot had not been previously released because federal facilities follow tighter restrictions on such matters. Now that he is in a facility housing prisoners for local and regional…
